I just did a rear disc conversion and am wondering if I should change my master cylinder to a newer one that came with 4 wheel discs?
Thanks Mike

I did the EGR kit on my 98. Not impressed with the parking brake system. To do it again I would have replaced the whole axle with disks.

If you do a search on youtube about adjusting those El Dorado/Cadillac brake calipers it will make all the difference. There's a right and wrong way to do it so look for the instructions that tell you how to do it with the caliper mounted on the rotor and using a box end wrench to turn the mechanism until it clicks. I'll see if I can find the link.

Oho, aha and good golly. Thanks for this heads-up. I hope you can find the link! (I'm working on-contract and all my time went away.)

That could explain much of the dislike and confusion over the EGR and other conversions that use the Cadillac rear brakes. I look at the product images and say to myself, "Huh?" because the parking brake seems to use a lever and spring system to pinch the rotor. I think. All the rear disc setups I have ever taken apart (and put back together) have used a hat-shaped rotor that fits over a miniature drum brake park brake system. Probably cheaper & easier.
