My truck has a Prime-Loc filter setup that the original owner installed, always a headache when trying to inspect things below the intake. It would be nice to convert it back to stock at some point. Has anyone here done this and what parts are required. If there are aftermarket items that may improve the conversion, it would preferred.

My 1996 also has a PrimeLoc that I installed in 1997. I agree that it can be in the way of getting to things. When I need to, I can remove one or the other of the long bolts and swivel it out of the way. Or I can remove all the bolts and just move it out of the way temporarily. There is plenty of hose to do that. If the PrimeLoc unit is in good shape and the fuel filter is on correctly, it won't leak.

Just don't lose the spacers that go between the manifold and the PrimeLoc plate. I lost one 15 years ago and I've been using a stack of washers ever since.

I'm considering relocating the PrimeLoc to bolt to the left fender, somehow. I have never liked the way that it vibrates up and down with the engine running. On the other hand, it has never given any trouble. So maybe I am worrying over nothing. Dunno when I could do that, though. I came back out of retirement and am going back to work. (Must be nuts.)
