I just picked up a 2022 F250 Tremor with the 7.3 and gotta say I really like the Ford chassis and alot more in cab storage and space then the Ram. Still like the Cummins over Powerstroke but they are both great trucks and the Ford 10spd is super smooth.

$6.20/gallon+ in California for regular. it's gonna be awhile before i consider anything big as much as I like the new Ford. US average is $3.77. This time it's not the new president,it's Big Oil nailing us. The unique blend we're forced to run amounts to a few cents a gallon more. I sat in a 2022 Tremor with the 6.7. Fit and finish seemed great and I really loved the cavernous cab and the seats were superb.

Has Ford fixed there transmission problems?

I have not heard yet, I think they were having issues with 7th gear planetary up to at least '20 models. My brother just pulled his '20 F-250 in the work stock diesel class. He weighted it down to 9100 lbs and used low range, in drive. He said it shifted all the way to 7th. I told him to haul it to the pulls with his rollback, so he didn't have to walk:D

They also have a 6.8 gasser on the way, a smaller 7.3 I think. The 10 spd is in all the cab/chassis trucks up to the F-600.

I picked up a 2022 F250 7.3/10spd for work and gotta say I love that truck for being a gasser. Lot of power (again for a gasser) transmission is always in the right gear, tows 10k very well stock ( once again for a gasser). I get 13.5mpg empty and 8-9 towing in mountains but overall its a great setup.

Jalopnik wrote an article said they something like....... be prepared to fork over $45k for the privilege, which I took as it's $45 in options required to get the 500/1200 40k towing deal.

so it's gotta push it over $100k if the base is mid $50's.

It appears your could configure this package for alot less then I thought. They have a pretty big selection of trucks and options, it's pretty amazing how many things can be configured.

I don't think RAM is missing out at all, because more options are not always better.
