I modified the coolant supply fom the head to the heater core by using a 1/2" NPT Street EL and a 1/2" NPT to 5/8" hose adapter. This has provided additional clearance for valve cover removal. I'm actually in the process of removing the head to replace the leaking head gasket when this photo was taken.
