Thanks guys, I was aware the AC compressor cycling on and off. Hell it gives me a jump everytime I have the hood up with it on.
I'm starting to lean towards injectors though. This morning it was 70º and it had some noticeable start up smoke, more than usual. I romped on it some the evening...
Lately I've been getting more than usual start up smoke. Even at 80F ambiant air and only sitting 8 hours while at work. Lasts for about 30sec or so and clears up. Idle is somewhat rough but not bad during that.
Seems to have excess black smoke at engine operating temp under WOT from what I...
?? I didn't really follow that other than you rotated it one hole.
I only notice on the way up under throttle. So thats why I think it *might* be an injector issue. Especially as of late as I have start up smoke even at 60F for about 30 secs. Little loop in the idle then it settles out. I...
Bout to turn 119k on it. Got a new tank of fuel and it seemd to be better. Also cold it seems to be smoother than warmed up at those rpms. I'll get under and check the balancer. Other thought could be an injector or two on its way out. However it seems to be fine as far as I can tell everywhere...
I just noticed this yesterday and not quite sure what to think about it. In park bumping the rpms to inbetween 800 and 1000 get a pretty good truck vibration. The engine doesn't seem to be running rougher but its hard to tell since its just above idle. Idles dead at 750 and normal as far as I...
Thanks guys, I'm sure the 75w-90 is more common at the chain auto stores. Sythentic GL5 correct. I didn't get to get it on this weekend due to all the rain we had down here. This one AFE says holds 5qts.
Well I finally got my AFE rear cover and its a thing of beauty. Worth the wait as it seems they were won backorder for a while. But I've been trying to find whats the latest recommended oil as things can change over the years. Take my Jeeps AX5 recommend oil for instance. I'm leaning towards the...
Timkens are the only WB to buy, I watched a spidertrax video comparing timkens to chinese ones, and new the overseas were out of lateral spec. Even desert raced timkens were still better.
I've got my 15A time set for 3hrs as well, or maybe 3. 5. I can't remember. Its usually to get a warmer cab quicker as the coldest its been so far is in the teens. Its only about 6. 25A.
I plug mine in when its below freezing, mainly because I had being cold halfway to work :) Last week here I was getting fuel and it kicked into high idle. Thats when you know its cold.
I think 0ºF was the coldest i've done mine on the grid heater.
My first gave up at 83k sounded awful, didn't think I was going to limp it to the dealer. Replaced under warranty so not sure of the brand, has been doing fine though with 30k on it. Gates is a quality manufacturer. I wouldn't have a problem using their parts unless proven to be grossly defective.
