Thanks everyone for the replies. I checked out timprebuilders and they are out of stock on that unit. Dorman does require a core but I may go that route because no telling when the other will be available. I’ll get back to you when I have the new unit. Thanks again.

So I noticed today when replacing the line pressure sensor on my 68rfe that the plug on the wiring harness was broken. Does anyone have any ideas on where to source a replacement? My idea was to go to a junk yard and fine another Chrysler transmission like 45rfe (as they share the same sensor)...

Well with that said, I’ll do a little digging into the unit but I believe you’re correct in your diagnosis. Now, do you think it’s better to get a new one from dodge or dorman offers a replacement for around $400 vs $1000+ from the dealer.

No worries. I have already replaced the switch thinking that was the problem but to my surprise the new switch does the exact same thing. So the problem must be elsewhere.
