I live in CA. I keep hearing about air bags being the fix but I haven't heard any way to change the licensing. I was looking into the upgraded coils as well but don't know if thats overkill. I cornered a CHP motor Sgt today and he said bag it and travel responsibly.

Well Gents, I have heard and am at least looking at a 2014 clone Megacab 3500 with 4100lbs of payload. I hate the idea of giving up my truck I purchased new, but it's a good possible option. Low mileage, well taken care of, decent price. Weighing my options. Thank s for the info again.

I was told by the CHP Officer that in CA there is no specific criminal section for being over GVWR. It is based more on the negligence if present, and then goes civil. I have not checked any other states nor do I know how to. Getting answers in CA has been challenging enough.
