In my case, it's a 6'-4" bed, extending to 8' when the tail gate is down. I've picked up 2 pallets of Sod onto the tail gate/bed with no issues. Obviously the weight is shared into the bed as well, so not fully onto the tail gate when loaded. Actually it was 20 pallets total (so 10x trips)...
Always had 8' Beds, but wanted a Mega Cab this time around. So 6'-4" was it. When I need an 8' Bed, I simply flip out my Bed Extender and problem solved. ;)
I just did similar a few days ago. 2021 Laramie Mega Cab, Blackout edition. All of 9 miles on it. ;)

Because yours didn't come with a Filter setup. My '14 didn't either. But as noted above, check out the Geno's Kit. Easy to do. Adds the Door and Filter.
Just had that exact thing happen, but on my 4x4 shift lever. 167k miles. It's linkage on the 4x4 (not cable). Got underneath to examine. There it was laying there and the rubber grommet gone from the shift lever bracket. Found a Dorman grommet at the local Auto parts store. Installed it and...
