disconnecting batteries did work, ive never run into this before on this truck and not sure if we just worked around a different problem. I guess ill carry more wrenches and see. thank you for the advice
there never was any key in ignition message with any key. fingers crossed
re boot? ive had it for 150,000 miles and never heard of this? I was thinking maybe the ignition switch rf ring? mechanically the key turns but it acts like no key present, no lights flashing either though

Thanks everyone! Re torqued bearing caps to 63ft pounds! Super awesome Carli Ball joints are in, new seals are in! Only need to press new joints in axle shafts and she will be back putting in work!
the thread is about the 13 SRW 4 door 3500 4x4 like the title says, I torqued the carrier bearing caps at 85, hopefully that is close as I did measure them around 70 before dismantling.
I did try and ad this truck to my profile also but wasn't able to figure that out. I still have the old...
I used a torque wrench when I pulled apart and they did move around 70, so 80 seems believable. maybe ill go 85 in case lol thank you everyone for the help.
I keep finding different answers with each search. maybe someone has access to FSM or similar. I will be closing up as soon as I know the torque is correct
Thanks everyone, she's almost back together! Does anyone know the carrier bearing caps torque spec? they where in the 70ft pound range when I removed them.
update, Looking at everything I can find online and mostly with all the great help here It seems like this flange might actually be part of the outer axle seal after all. im going to try and confirm with a part in hand but getting much closer now. maybe its part number 9 in diagrams above...
