2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Death Wobble....need new shorts now!

the leveling kit was on it when I bought it. I've had the front end aligned twice in the year and a half I've owned it. Also checked the front end out a bit tonight. The track bar has about 1/8" play in both bushings, don't know if thats normal or not, and the pass. side tierod end is worse...

2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Death Wobble....need new shorts now!

Experienced death wobble for my first time today. I was going down hill, on a back road near my parents house, maybe doing around 45 around a gentle left hand bend, and hit a bump mid turn. All heck broke loose after that. The truck shook so bad I could hardly hold onto the wheel, and the truck...

    Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) 4" vs 5" exhaust

really, stacks are quieter? I would have thought having them right there behind the cab would make it even louder, and maybe even resonate through the cab more. Would a 5" exhaust system sound pretty similar to a set of stacks? I love the sound of stacks, but I don't know if I really wanna give...

    Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Adding timing to HO engine

actually I lost a lot of bottom end when I switched to the SO pump, but now that I have the 275's and the EZ, I gained it back and have more top end to boot. I made the swap though cause my old VP was going out, and I have plans for over 500hp someday. Darkhorse, your exactly right, its got...

    Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) 4" vs 5" exhaust

Up until recently, I was planning on adding a set of stacks someday, but now I'm leaning more towards a full length exhaust system due to decreasing bed space. I've heard that most times, 4" will actually perform slightly better than 5". My main concern is the sound. I'll be running it straight...

    Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) bad transmission shop in pa

I've talked to Ladell many times and gotten good advice from him. I'm sure he would be willing to help you out.

    Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Mach 4s smoke at idle?

I've heard of the Jammers not always making the power they claim, where as the Mach's sometimes make more than they are rated. The Machs will also run a little cooler. They're what I'm going with when I have the cash.

    Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Adding timing to HO engine

I'm running a edge ez and 275 injectors, but I have a SO pump on mine. I don't know if running a SO pump with a HO ecu changes timing at all, but it seems just as noisy as when the truck was still stock. It still makes more noise than a SO engine.

2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission clutch pedal noise

My buddy just had his hydraulic assembly replaced on his 98, and that took care of his squeaking too. So if spraying everything up doesn't help, it may just be the master cyl. making noise.

    19.5" wheel/tires

I think the look of the Vision wheels is starting to grow on me. Not only would they be lighter, but it would get the tires out closer to the edge of the fender, maybe even past it a little bit. I'm just not crazy about how the stock wheels keep the tires tucked inside the fenders a little bit...

    Tire shopping/pic's?

Nauidvr1, it would be expensive, but if your that hard on tires, maybe you wanna look into a set of 19. 5" wheels and tires. that would bump you up to atleast a load range G. I've been researching the Rickson wheels and possibly a set of 245/70 or 265/70 tires to go with them, mainly just for...

    19.5" wheel/tires

I run empty probably 99% of the time, thats why I was concerned about the ride. I have a set of 5100 bilsteins waiting to go on. I was planning on a set of 285/75's in a D load range to help improve the ride, but only getting around 30,000 miles out of the tires kinda sucks. thats why I was...

    19.5" wheel/tires

How is the ride when empty with these on a 2nd gen? I'm thinking about going with the 19. 5x7. 5 steel ricksons and either a 245 or 265 series tire. I've never driven anything with a tire that had a higher load range than E. I know my ride pretty much sucks right now.
