I know in Snow conditions I have seen and experienced duals perform better than super singles. The reason is the duals have to "plow" less snow away from the front of the tire as compared to super singles. On a heavy vehicle in snow, a tall skinny tire cuts through the snow.
When I did the cushion in my 03, I found it easier to just remove the seat. It was 4 bolts and a wiring harness plug and it was out. It made it easy to do the cushion replacement cause I had it on the work bench.

I found this article interesting. It appears that other manufacturers in Europe meet the European standard when doing a controlled test, but fail when doing real world testing.

I was in at the local dealer the other day, and they had a sign out on the floor that they were looking for 03 and up diesels, with any mileage. I was driving my car around so I didn't get hassled. I don't want to pay the difference to replace it at this time.
