My dad has an '03 F250 4x4 V10 that he loves. It gets 15 mpg (highway unloaded) and it averages 13 mpg in mixed driving. He bought it new and it cost $6k less than a similar diesel. $6k will buy a lot of fuel... esp. considering diesel is $0. 30 higher that gas.
I think he has about 60k...
I bought the farmboys 4" system w/ a muffler. It was way too quiet for me... I replaced the muffler with a straight pipe and I like it a lot better now.
I'm going to go ahead and replace the belt tonight. Even if it's not the problem, it won't hurt to replace it anyhow. It does appear 'glazed' on the top side of the belt.
I have an annoying intermittent squeek/chirp that has been getting progressively worse for the last few days.
It seems to happen most often when I get on the brakes, but it's not brake squeel (and I already checked the pads... they're fine). It also happens sometimes when the truck is at...
Me too. I dropped it off last night at Underwood Tire to get the Farmboysdiesel 4" turbo back exhaust and KDP done. I'm curious to hear it... I'll be going from the factory 3" straight piped exhaust to the 4" with a muffler. It was just too loud in the cab @ 70 mph with the straight pipe.
I added BHAF & removed the silencer last night. I don't notice a lot of difference in the power, but it sounds great. The turbo whistle is noticable, but not nearly as loud as the '99 Powerstroke I used to have.
I'd really like to ride one of these (1000cc Artic Cat):

But, my '98 Polaris Sportsman 500 does just fine.
