All filters are up to date. The best description of the problem by the way, is like a gasoline engine that has "jumped time"... ... ..... didn't mention on any of my posts, but I checked the "3-key" trick and no codes of any kind came up.
Warm Weather
Sorry... ... ... ... don't know what happened to my profile on here, but I'm in Louisiana and the ambient temp was about 90 degrees at the time and there was nothing out of the norm as to how I always start the engine..... Have been driving around since the first post and after...
Yesterday morning got in truck, waited for cycle of all icons, turned on the key and engine fired up normally. All functions on gauges looked normal, but when I put it in "R" and started to back slowly out of the garage, it felt like it was going to die and was "missing". Stopped and put in "D"...
Steve,I use Blackstone to do my oil analysis. Can you give me a link to some former articles in the magazine on oil properties so that I can compare various elements and what they mean ? Thanks!
Pennzoil Gold
I went into the shop area when the dealer was changing mine and the oil was definitely Pennzoil Gold Long Life in one gallon jugs..... I have been having oil analysis since the first change and everything looks good with the exception of high fuel content in oil (up to 5 %), but...
I just got a set of four Centramatic balancers as a birthday present from my son. He has them on his '08 F-250 and swears by them. I ran a search on the forum but could not find any info that was less than two years old... . I seem to remember reading somewhere that they were not recommended for...
Oil Change and Fuel Dilution
Unless you decide to lose some of the emissions equipment, get used to fuel in your oil... . it is a result of "Regeneration". Cummins says the dilution rate is not harmful up to 5%. I don't like it, but my 08 Mega 4x4 has run anywhere from 3% to 5% on every oil...
Very Same Thing
My '08 goes into regen about every 55-65 miles when I do a lot of city driving and when I'm doing mostly highway miles the interval is around 100-120 miles and the duration is 12 to 15 minutes. There is no doubt when in regen as the Dipricol gauge will usually register 1150-1300...
Screwed Too
Almost the same thing happened to me, with the bill originally presented totaling $345. 00. I did my imitation of a "postal clerk" and they lowered a grand total of $60 bucks..... the maintenance schedule does call for a change at 15,000 miles. Stupidly, I didn't get a price from...
Need suggestions for best devices on the market to check and clear codes on my 08 6. 7L Mega. Hopefully, which are most user friendly and the approx. price range, as well as suppliers... ... ... ... ... thanks !
All Of The Above............plus

IF YOU DON'T WANT THE OVERPRICED DODGE NAV SYSTEM.

4. DOUBLE...
Idle Time-oil Level (08 Mega)
I have never idled longer than a normal stop at a traffic light, if so, I engage the "high idle" feature. Normal idle on my truck is 700 rpm. "High Idle" sets it up to 1100 rpm with the ability to increase to 1500 rpm. I currently have 11,900 miles on the clock...
Cruise/Regen
I was also told that it would not go into regen while on cruise control by a dealer in my hometown of Monroe, La. Since I have hardly ever used that feature, I really didn't argue with them, but seriously doubted the info..... I WAS one of those guys who thought doing everything...
Friction Modifiers
Also, even if you have a limited-slip differential, the manual says that it is not necessary to add a "friction modifier"... ... ... ... ... .
40% Off
Grasmo..... sorry but just got back on the forum. The dealer was Brennan Dodge located in Ruston, Louisiana (phone # is 318-251-9874). It was run in the Monroe News-Star on Sunday (July 20). Please note that it said TRUCKS IN STOCK... ... . Hope this helps.
