I have almost 200k on it. Taking it to the alignment shop tomorrow to get the toe end checked and will have him look at the bushings.
No one has any recommendations on tire pressure? The owners manual is of course useless.
01 2500 4x4 5speed running the new Mich M+S 2's with only 6 k miles on them. The rear are fine but he front are feathering all across the tread. I run empy 85% of the time with 55 psi front and 50 psi rear. I had the truck at a alignment shop before dropping $1k on new tires and alignment is ok...
BobV, what do you mean a 2 week low kit??? I will look for the vent line and remove the check/fill plug and blow throught the hose to see if it is open.
I should have mentioned that I have the NV4500 5 speed. Mobile one makes a 75w synthetic for about 10. 99 qt
It is leaking from the tailpiece for sure. PO used some kind of caulk on it and the bottom two bolts and lip are leaking. I would just like to pull the entire case and and do it right.
My output seal is leaking and when I removed the plug to check level I got the "poof" sound of air pressure. I looked on top and found a vent rubber hose coming out just behind the t-case adapter to the transmission. It is only about 6 inches long and somehow attaches to a wiring harness???

So, if I wanted to just removed the rear transfer case tail housing to replace the yoke seal and the tailpiece gasket I would not have to mess with the snap ring?
Didn't I read somewere that the bearing in the tailpiece housing kept the yoke from wobbling and if the yoke seal was leaking...
No snap ring to remove before sliding the tailhousing off? So if I drop the drive shaft and remove the 4 bolts on the TP housing it will come off? The PO used silicone and it is leaking.
thanks.
I have done several searches and most all of the post I am finding are from 2003/2004 era. Has there been any update on this for a tool to replace the tailhousing w/ring other than the dealer $110 tool?
1. Has tool been found to make/buy to replace housing?
2. Has anyone found replacement...
Thanks for the input. I printed off the wiring diagram so whatever system I go to I will have it.
Anyone know what is involved in the OEM keyless entry from a dealer? Anyone who has done it give some prices?
thanks.
I am looking at adding some sort of keyless entry with a remote and found a couple that state that it will work with all "central locking" vehicles. Does this mean if you have factory electric door locks?
I am wanting to add this to my 01 2500.
I did some searching and found where our...
Well I agree on the long bed post. I finally found a truck and it turned out to be a short bed. It is just like the other 01 I previously owned except the color is Patriot Blue.
thanks to all the replies.
I thought this would be as good of any place to put this. What aftermarket stereo upgrades have you done to your truck?
Here is mine:
Head unit: Alpine 7893 about 10 yrs old
Fronts: Soundstream SPL 2 ohm 6. 5 seperates with tweeter in upper door panel
Rear: Soundstream SPL 2 ohm 6. 5...
Thanks for the info. Will the buyers guide show mpg on the two different years? I will look into it. I am having a hard time finding a 98. 5-2002 model and see more of the 03-04 models out there.
thanks again.
