Back in the day when backpressure vent tubes were directly out towards the ground etc, the "Smelly Rotella" for the first 500 miles was heaven...;) Can't smell a thing now....:(
I use synthetic because it has a much higher resistance to high heat. With all the garbage they put on the engines now for smog, I use full as it cost the same as my 1997 or 2005 RAM with dino oil changes at 5K. I change mine now at 7500 with it at 50% on their "oil scale" per the odometer.
Ever since the Y78 recall was completed, the exhaust brake does not slow the truck down while in cruise control. This applies to either Full exhaust or Auto Exhaust brake. I have been back to the dealer 4-6 times and reflashes done etc to no avail.
Prior to the Y78 recall, it would slow the...
If you do the trans service (oil drop)yourself etc, MAKE sure you reset the codes BEFORE you shift into gear. When you change the oil, it throws a code and causes the AISIN trans to shift like GODLIZZA who wants to break your driveshaft in two. Once you plug into the OBDII port and clear the...
I'm happy that your were able to have so many wonderful years with an awesome woman! I'm sorry for your loss, but happy for your time with such a great lady. I read her articles for many years and enjoyed them.
I really miss my no emission 2005 Dodge 5.9 6 spd. I love the 2020 power etc, but I have to say, I frequently see 2003 to 2005 5.9 3500 for a possible purchase to keep beyond DEF etc etc. Its a hard choice knowing that your entering into the dealers zone. Pre 2007, your free to do what you want...
After I got that info from you a while back, I serviced the 2016...2020 will be due in a few thousand miles. I'll just do it the same way again. Not spending $400 for 5 minutes of work...
I have done both fluid change and filter fluid change on the AISIN 2016-2020. Question is, has any aftermarket manufacturer made a pan that has a angled rear wall to make access to the PITA bolts easier? Or am I still using the "wobble socket/extension etc?"
Larry Miller in Surprise service advisors were complete and rude AH's the last time I was there. I would not buy a bottle of water from them in the middle of the desert. Don't know about sales.
Found out last week my RAM 3500 lost 1500lbs of tow rating.(Not that 33,500 to 32,000 was a big deal) Anyone know why this happened etc? Checking the RAM tow rating by vin tells you your rating.
TIA
I had planned to put it in the shop. Arrived and to my surprise they needed it for "2" days.....Going to call the selling dealer and see if they want to work on it in less then 2 days worth. I'll keep you posted. Mine does not engage when in cruise control. Won't downshift etc. It used to drop...
Well, that was an utter complete waste of time.3 weeks ago I made the appointment... My exhaust break doesn’t work hardly anymore at or at all when it’s in cruise control (After injector [ump change) so I called the dealer up. Tell him I had the new injection pump changed, and that I’m hoping...
