    Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) code 1690 and erratic running engine

    I have a 01 quadcab that would mis and the tach would also stop working. the code read that the map sensor was bad but when i asked around i was told to change my cam sensor witch controlls the tach and was giving the map sensor a false reading. hope this helps.
