Thanks! I will try to go for the whole kit for just a bit more. Much cheaper than the dealer if it is the cause of the leak. It looks like I may be able to get some access to work on the reservoir if I remove the inner fender guard.
What hose is the one that causes the hissing? Do I need to...
I took my truck into the dealer for a red fluid leak under the power steering pump area. They "think" it is leaking between the power steering pump and reservior. They qouted me $1300+ to replace the pump, a bracket or two, and a hose claiming Dodge recommends it all be done at the same time...
Mine smells like diesel exhaust when ever the truck is 1. stopped 2. in regen and 3. exterior vent is on. It has happened since they replaced my EGR 20k miles ago. The dealer claims it is "normal". I expect a leaking exhaust/egr connection somewhere, but can not find one.
It would appear some are buying the Smarty with the on road tune and then getting the ME tune online from other sources. I have not done this, but it appears to be happening.
I saw that on a later model truck than mine, there was a heat shield around one of the exhaust sensors. Would this assist my trucks emissions working better? If so, would heat shielding wrap work from the turbo back to the DPF to assist in better or less regenerations? A local dodge mechanic...
Thanks! That sounds like it would be in the ball park. I mostly wanted to make sure I was not alone on this and doing something silly! Gee, I think I was 185 back in high school... almost 30 years ago.
I picked up one from Geno's and was going to install it myself when I noticed the new long bolt is too long for my deep socket. I tried a local tool store that only had a crows foot wrench that they wanted $60 for which was more than I wanted to spend to use it one time.
Any ideas on what to...
I picked up a new to me DPF and NOX filter off a 2011 2500 (Craigs list from a guy who deleted with a straight pipe) in case I wanted to drill them out to make a stealth delete without trashing my original units on my 2008. Are they the same for 2008 and 2011? I just picked them up last weekend...
Yeah, that was the same response I got back in Oct was that it was probably my truck. The tech then said he would set it up to capture my program the next time I plugged into the computer so it could be reviewed by thier programing group. I uploaded it to them that day. Then heard nothing and...
Update:
Got an email the other day from Edge indicating they had fixed the issue and to do an update to the Insight online. I did that and now both TCL and DPF Status work!
Chris
I talked with Edge, and they seemed to be concerned, but thought it was a problem with the truck. When I asked if they had seen this issue before, they said no. Mine reads the gear and TC lockup just fine. I have not tried all the other options, but all others I have wanted to use work great. I...
Got a whoppin' 20k miles so far on the truck since I bought it new. About 1/2 are pulling the trailer. I was able to just break 15k lbs combined weight last trip on my first time across the scales. I tow about 70-75 mph on the interstates (when posted) and hit a lot of mountians in NM and CO so...
I have had my Edge insight CTS monitor (monitor only, stock program) for a few thousand miles, but the DPF status on the monitor never changes from "off". Every so often the 3 exhaust temps go to around 1100-1200 deg (typically around 500-700), but the monitor still reads DPF status "off". I...
I would also like to know if it really is a new design.
I am not sure if the dealer was being straight with me or not.
Could it be a new/improved design with the same dodge part number or would they have another number?
I can try to snap a picture of the new one this weekend if that...
