What's your process to flush the cooling system? I've read drain anti freeze, fill with distilled water and drive to get up to temp then drain, then repeat 2 more times. Sound about right? Also curious if any of you use a coolant filter?
My batteries are the original batteries (2019 2500), I keep it on a trickle charger in my shop because I don't drive it a lot (almost 36,000 miles) and I live in a mild climate in Oregon. Probably just jinx'ed myself with that but the truck is pampered and sometimes it's just the luck of the...
I saw the 2025 6.7 is coming with glow plug(s) so whatever the failure rate is, apparently it's enough to have them change it. With social media now it doesn't take much for an internet urban legend to grow into something that appears bigger than what it actually is though.
Not sure what...
I'll check them but I found out the TSB was for the industrial version of the 6.7, not sure if the cab and chassis model uses a different version of the 6.7 or not.
A friend of mine has a 2020 Ram 5500 that had the bolts on the harmonic balancer come loose and eventually fail which destroyed a good part of his engine. He said there was a TSB out about this as I was going to remove mine one at a time and put red locktite on them to avoid the same issue but...
I changed the fluid in my transmission a few months ago and wonderful world of youtube a guy did his and said it would hold 7 quarts. I let mine drain all day and when I added the 7 quarts it barely registered on the dipstick so I wound up adding 11 quarts to get it up to the full line when it was...
The amount of power required to keep the fridge's "brain" running is pretty minimal and shouldn't have drained two truck batteries. Without the camper connected to the truck, does the coach battery power everything in the camper? You should have a load test done on the coach battery to verify...
I have a power manager in my slide in camper that will use the truck batteries to power the camper until the voltage goes down to 12.8 volts then it no longer draws power from the truck batteries. That way it charges when I'm driving or if I plug a solar panel into it. On a side note, when a...
funny how times change. I ordered a new 3500 during covid and it got pushed back so far that after 8 months of waiting with no build date I cancelled my order with the dealership. I wound up buying a used 2500 but when companies treat their customers like that in good times they can't expect...
I bought some OEM fender flares for my 2019 Tradesman. It had these pins that would require a truck to have the holes in the side of the fenders so I cut those off as the flares also have screws that mount through the underside of the fender which is sufficient. The truck had the bigger flares...
Like most I'm in the low 20's on highway trips empty, 17 mpg with our pop up camper about 16 when pulling our enclosed trailer with the pop up camper. Pulling our toyhauler 28' and 8000 lbs I get 10-12 but a lot of that is mountain driving in the Cascades. Overall impressive mileage for such a...
I flew in and out of Shemya from 97-2000 and I always loved it. It only had civil service on the base at the time but the Cobra Dane radar site was still up n running. The missiles were out of the silos and they all had about 20 feet of water in them, great place to explore.
Nothing to do with your truck but you were stationed at Shemya in the Air Force? I was in the Coast Guard and we'd fly in and out of there once every 2 weeks in our C130s when we resupplied the Loran Station on the Island of Attu. We also flew fishery patrols out of there for a week at a time...
