Archived 97 12v Charging Problem

Thanks to all you good folks. It is looking like a bad PCM at this point. It is cheaper now to buy one than to test further at a shop - THEN buy one. I can run this way until fall or later, since the system stays charged to about 12 volts. I cannot see drops when running...

Archived 97 12v Scan says Engine not running

AOwens - thanks for the reply. I am getting a bit confused here. A "speed sensor" from the transmission (yours was corrected on a tran rebuild) should indicate rolling speed. I believe (correct me if I am wrong) that my "speed sensor" is on the diff. I get the "engine not running" whether rolling...

Archived 98 12 valve needing help

I just included all that so he could actually FIND the screw. He asked how to adjust, so does not know where the screw is located. Without working the linkage and feeling where it is, you cannot find that screw. Once you know where it is, then jamming the pedal is the way to go! Thanks for...

    Archived 97 12v Charging Problem

Three days ago, I went to town (35 mi) with no indication of trouble. When I tried to start the truck later, the batteries were completely dead. I had a truck hooked up for about half an hour before the charge allowed me to start the truck. After starting there was no electrical service...

Archived 98 12 valve needing help

Idle adjustment There is an idle adjustment screw at the end of the linkage. It is either viewable, or reachable, but not both at the same time. You can manually move the linkage at the front of the engine, and follow the linkage to the back. Reach in to the block in front of the brake...
