getting it working was easy. pretty much just hooked it up and set it to diesel mode and it worked as is. i added a relay on the on the remote starters start wire so that when the grid heaters are on the remote starter can not engage the starter. so far i have not been told of any issues but the...
i hate to sound like an as$hole but you have really been no help at all. you keep talking about newer truck and i am working on a 91 which is why i posted in the first gen section. the trucks are completely different. i was really hoping to possibly find someone who has installed one on a first...
i would guess most newer trucks have signals of some sort that you could get a tach signal from. i don't see why you say i got to look at newer truck wiring. i am working on a 91. it don't have a asd relay and there is really no point in adding one. it would not solve any of the issues i would...
i don't see how looking at a gen 4 or any newer truck would make a difference? i am pretty sure all newer trucks usually have a crank signal of some sort which is the only issue i was not sure the best way to deal with. as far as wiring it so that the truck actually starts is easy. i can hotwire...
well i know if i hooked it up it would work. the only issue is the truck don't have a crank signal of any sort to tap into to let the remote starter know the engine is running. that means the remote starter is going to rely on the virtual tach which goes off voltage which would most likely grind...
i was wondering what peoples thoughts are on remote start with these diesels? i got one for my gas ramcharger and it has been great but now a friend of mine is kind of wanting one for his 91 w250 diesel and i have seen a few for sale that should with with his truck. my only concern would be with...
i guess i learned something new. thanks. the truck is registered as personal and has a GVWR of less than 4500kg which is why the e-test only cost $30. if the truck had a higher GVWR it could have cost a lot more. i don't think he ever got pulled over with his last flat deck but i guess the mto...
thanks for the responses. i guess i should have mentioned my friend got his truck e-tested about 2 weeks ago and it passed. only cost him $30 and from the sounds of it they did more talking about how cool of a truck it was than they did about emissions testing. a lot of good info to know tho. as...
after doing some more reading it looks like someone might have stuck a WIX #33472 on the engine instead. i was reading it is a upgrade to kind of get away from stock fuel heater and WIF setup
might have to wait a couple days to try getting pics. we were rushing to finish up wiring his temporary tail lights before it rained the last time i was over. lot of small electrical issues popping up and i see more that need to be fixed before stuff quits working. i am wondering if since it has...
well i am pretty sure the probe is missing all together. there is nothing sticking out of the only thing that looks like a fuel filter other than what looks like a bolt. also is there any preferred brands as far as fuel filters go?
what type of balancing beads did you order and are they any good? i was thinking about trying some in my my ramcharger to keep the front tires balanced until i can get the camber fixed.
ok i got another question. the water in fuel light came on for the truck. i was wonder what you do for that. i am pretty sure that we were looking at the fuel filter but i think the fuel in water sensor might possibly missing. i know there is a plug in the general area that we can't figure out...
