Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) Starting trouble, have to pump throttle

A while ago I noticed that after I had been driving the truck for a couple of hours it wouldn't restart unless I pumped the throttle while cranking. I posted the question here and someone suggested I remove this little boot (forgot what it's proper name is) on the side of the fuel pump. I did...

Thanks for the additional info 95REDRAM, I took a look at my boot... it's really coming apart. I'm going to remove it tonight and I'll post the results after I get a chance to drive it for a while. My mechanic also replaced some kind of banjo bolt that has a spring in it... goes on the...

Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) Starter cranks, truck starts, then stops

After I've been driving for over an hour and stop the truck it has trouble starting again. When I crank the starter it fires, then stops Immediately. I've noticed that if I pump the throttle while cranking it will start. The truck has 165k on it... does this mean its time to rebuild the...

    Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) Transmission leaking or Tcase leaking

I have a 97 4x4 with the auto trans. I noticed a large puddle of pink fluid on the ground, looked underneath, but can't tell whether its coming from the trans or the t-case. I took it to a local 4x4 shop and they told me it was the rear seal on the trans and that they didn't work on...

2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Front axle trac bar

DT uses one bracket for 0-3 inch lift and another dropped bracket for 3-6 inch lift. When I purchased I asked if the brackets used the same holes so I could switch later after my lift. He said I can switch brackets and that they would use the same holes. He also said that he would sell the 3-6"...

2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Front axle trac bar

I was thinking about making my own. Instead I installed a DT bar. The bracket that he uses for the heim joint end that bolts to the frame is VERY well designed..... Lots of complex angles and looks very strong. I have a mill and a welder but I couldn't even begin to design and build that bracket...

Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) Any shops that can timing in So Cal?

My local injection shop has a good reputation, but when I asked them about advancing the timing to 15. 5* they said this was not possible and they would have to guess. I brought them the info from piers site, but they still won't do it. Does anyone know of a shop in Southern California that...

    Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) pump timming

Do you know anyone in Southern CA that will advance the timing? My local shop says that its not possible to set the timing to any thing other than the factory setting. They're not too excited about changing anything from stock!! ~Craig
