Attention: TDR Forum Junkies To the point: Click this link and check out the Front Page News story(ies) where we are tracking the introduction of the 2025 Ram HD trucks.
I did buy a 2020 F350 Tremor to replace the 2018 2500 for my business. I drove the 2020 Ram 3500 to compare and can say Ford stepped up their game, the decision between brands on the 2020 was very easy.
I wanted to post an update on my repaired truck. It hasn’t been driven as much since the transmission was fixed, but so far so good. I’m keeping the truck as a back up, it’s being used mainly to pull our horse trailers and haul hay vs daily in my business. I am hoping that it continues to hold...
I don’t know if these other trucks are stock or not Jim, I only can speak for mine. I totally agree that if the truck is modified or abused that it’s not the manufacturer’s fault.
Never said only Dodges break...I had a 6.0 ford work truck that was in the shop constantly, I’ve had GMC’s that broke....probably the biggest issue is Ram taking a month to swap a transmission. The dealer was following Ram’s rules on cost comparison(70% rebuild vs reman), Ram wouldn’t approve a...
Sounds like I still own 2 Rams that i am happy in. I am trying a Ford product for business, will it have mechanical failures...quite possibly. No manufacturer has a perfect build nor do I expect one.
Nothing changed overnight and I didn’t say modified to last as a daily driver, I’ve had three of them prior to this truck that went to 100k without problems. I normally sell my business trucks around 100k and get a new one. I pull a trailer everyday, highways/backroads/dirt roads...it works a...
Upgrade would be a minimum of valve body and trans tuning. But then you spend additional money and could possibly have problems with any warranty coverage remaining.
Yes, every manufacturer does indeed. In my opinion this 68RFE problem is very similar to Ford’s 6.0 problem. Some will agree and some won’t. I first joined TDR years ago, but haven’t been around and couldn’t remember my username or login. Yep, still going to be around...I still have a 2017...
This transmission subject has been beat to death, but I’m so tired of hearing how tunes, big tires, hot rodding etc are the cause of failures. My 2018 2500 4x4 just came home from a 4 week stay at the dealer because of the trans. I bought it new, completely stock, tow a 5200lb trailer every...
I just got my 2018 2500 4x4 back from the dealer after having a major trans failure at 79k miles. I bought the truck new and have towed a 5200lb trailer for work since day 1. Always in tow/haul, maintained properly, MagHytec pan, no tune and no hot rodding. I was told the solenoid pack failed...
