When using c-clamp to press pistons back in, it takes little effort to compress pistons. Doesn’t seem like pistons are sticking or defective. Also, with new calipers, when I drained fluid from caliper, didn’t release until I loosened bolts from bracket to take caliper off.
2nd UPDATE** Well the brake goblins strike again! lol. Put new Caliper bracket and caliper on. Applied brakes, bled air out of lines but caliper wont release. Fluid comes out of bleeder valve and fluid line when I back of banjo bolt. The brake line is original, so I will change it out. I read on...
UPDATE** **Bad Caliper Thread** Brought caliper back to parts store, they had another one in stock. Tried bolt and it worked perfectly.
mwilson-- I did try both bolts in new and old. Both fit in old, neither in old. Thats why I wanted to check if maybe caliper threads may have been tapered for...
I have a 2008 4500 CC. Replacing driver caliper, when I try and screw in new brake fluid line bolt into the new caliper it will turn 2-3 threads then stops. Both new bolt and old bolt screw in old caliper just fine. I also ran a tap thru new caliper and tap went in with no problems using only...
Thx for response. When u say remove Smarty, meaning reset truck to stock? Smarty is not hooked to truck 24/7, only use it to run codes. I do have it set for towing and has been like that for several yrs now. I have the Smarty Jr, sry for stating just Smarty.
My ETC light came on. Ran Smarty and P0049 - Turbo Turbine Over speed and P0088 - Fuel Rail Press High code were shown.
Any experience on what would cause these codes?
Well I have a 08 4500 C&C pulling 40' Gooseneck. Not sure what gears I have but atleast 4.10's maybe even lower, it pulls like a herd of Clydesdales! But reguardless..........I pull at Gods speed! :D js.
Have No clue what is a "ME" tune in Smarty.
Its been about 1 1/2 yrs ish. When I first bought it all I did was take off the DPF and never messed with the EGR Valve or the Throttle Valve. A cpl months ago I did do the EGR plunger, and disconnected the plugs for the EGR and Throttle Valve. Truck...
Hooked up Smarty Jr to change settings. After update and turning truck on 3 codes came on:
P0487 EGR
P0601 Internal Memory Invalid
P2141 egr Airflow Throttle Control Circuit Low (Smarty Jr said was unknown)
I have the delete kit and Plunger is out and unplugged. Tried twice but cannot clear...
Cool deal, thx very much! Now, is it my imagination, or is my truck blowing LESS black smoke since I took the plunger out and disconnected TVC?? Note, I installed the delete pipe a year ago but never did anything with the Actuator Plunger or the TVC till a few days ago.
Ok, so by just following steps for the EGR Valve and throttle vale I should be good?? Also, after removing the Actuator, can I put motor back on or do I have to leave if off??
