Thanks Joe, I want to keep it cheap. I don't want to buy a new truck and use it as a guinnea pig. (I'd like a new truck, but I'll waite a couple of years) I like using my cousins old Powersmoker or a buddies old Benz. Both engines are pretty forgiving and will run on just about anything...

Hammer Wow! Looks great. The red really makes it pop. Gary. looks good. Thanks for the work on cavation. Great videos. It led me to solving a fuel pressure/lift pump problem I was having.

10% reduction in HP / MPG with BD?

My daughter did a science fair project last year. Compared HP, Torq and emissions for ULSD, LSD and 80% wvo (10% kerosine and gasoline). In a 1989 Ford Powerstroke. Lots of Dyno runs on each fuel. The results were averaged to the following. ULSD Veg 1 LSD 5 (RPM) HP HP HP 1900 92. 19...

Farmer makes his own SVO fuel, burns in CTD and M11 Cummins

Regarding the gasoline blends. International Harvester (in the owners manuel) also says some is OK in the old Ford Powersmoker from the 1980's. Also up to 30% I believe. I don't remember, don't care, I run a Cummins. Sometimes on 30% soybean Oil. New oil at Sam's Club was cheaper than Diesel...

    Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) the 70 dollar lift pump

I found this earlier in the post: Part Number 4090046 Price $64. 90. I did NOT need an engine number but I did some digging around and found a valid BlueBird Bus engine number that you can use if you get a distributor that requires it. Engine # 56561524 This is a 1999 manufacture date 250...

    Science Fair Project Ideas

We need a good high school science fair project for next year. My daughter earned a 1st in the region and 2nd in the state of Pennsylvania. She compared the torq, horsepower and tailpipe emissions of LSD, ULSD and 80% VO blend (10%kerosene,10% gasoline) in a old Ford Powersmoker. We want to keep...

Archived Lost prime after fuel filter change?

Geno's sells a lift pump relocation kit. I removed the old pump and relocated the pump to the frame rail. It took about 2 hours. Most of the time was used up fooling around and looking for good drill bits to drill through the frame rail.

    Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Fuel pressure question

This is a follow up post. Aviatorman you were right, the pump was ok. I found a post about cavation and another about the float in the fuel tank deteriorating and clogging up the screen on the pickup tube. I drained the tank (with the pump I thought was bad) and when I got down to about 5-10...
