Yes 2wd. It was built primarily to haul the family around in. Part of me would like to have a 4wd but at the time the swap on the 2wd made more economical sense. Do you still have your 1983 Suburban? I think I would like to do a 4bt in a 1/2ton something in the future. Maybe a square bodied blazer.

It would work but it would be a lot of weight on the 1/2 ton suspension. My burb is a 2500 and I noticed a big difference when I put the CTD in. I just went thru the front end and switched over to 1ton springs up front because of that.

Yes , I had my son turn the wheel back and forth and I got underneath the truck and the intermediate shaft was the only place I could see movement between components.

If you havent already put it on your to do list. Take a good look at the intermediate steering shaft when you go thru your steering. They are notorious for early wear on these trucks. I just replaced mine and it took all the "Wander" out of the steering.

The gov spring will just control the rpm in which the pump limits the rpm of the motor. Just because you upgrade the gov spring does not mean you have to increase fuel. As far as the pump goes, dont let it intimidate you. You have to open it up to change the gov spring but not completely. I...
