Thanks!!!!!! Ended up pouring about two quarts down the return hose and another quart in the radiator. It burped out a few bubbles. went a couple exits down the highway and back and it never got above 190!!!!

Thanks! Now that I think about it taking the pump out would have left the top of the block empty, makes so much sense.

It was getting dark as I got back from the test drive so I haven't rechecked anything ( also was a little frustrated). I was planning on testing thermostat in the morning. It idled for about 20 minutes and the temp never got above 140. After about 3 miles at 45mph it got to 200. Within 5 miles...

I just replaced a leaking water pump on our '03. I no longer have the leak, but I'm still quickly getting to overheating. It seems like its been overheating quicker and quicker over the last three days. I first noticed the water leak three days ago.
