    Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) 2004 4x4 4 door 1 ton dually

    replaced first clutch with oem brand. Customer complained of bucking and jerking in first and reverse only. checked all u joints and mounts. found all ok. installed 2nd clutch and problem still there. :{ wtf

    I would caution any one using the 1/8" method. I did this even though I have a dial indicator(to much trouble). I drove it for a while and it didn't seem right . So I broke out the gauge to check it . It was at 1. 80mm. I backed it off to the factory marks and it was at 1. 50mm. This was...

    No codes (checked with cummins scanner)and no water in fuel. Might try cleaning the grounds though. Thanks. .

    Hey Jake , He has no mods, the fuel press. is 14# at idle and 11# at wot. Have not checked codes because the check engine light has not come on.

    I have a friend with a 2001 that will at times surge at idle and at other times after pulling a trailer he can let off the throttle and it will fall below idle and occasionally die. we have already changed the lift pump. The check engine light has not come on.
