Not sure how many miles you have on your truck, mine used a lot of DEF in the first 5,000 miles. It also uses much more while towing. I think I read one tank should last about 5,000 miles, but certainly not while towing.
Just keep in mind, adding air bags or switching to a Kelderman's suspension, won't increase your total towing weight (17K). However, it may increase the amount you can load over the axle. So, you could possibly get closer to that 17K weight limit (.20 X 17,000 = 3400). Most 2500's have a payload...
I have a 2014 3500 DRW with over 15,000 with no problems. I have towed my 40', 15K lbs 5th wheel with no issues. I also love the Aisin transmission (3.73 rear). I had some updates done with the oil change and fuel filter change at 15K miles.
