CP3 Slipping when it is cold?

Thanks for the responses guys. I have looked over all the wires and grounds and haven't found the issue yet. I agree that the issue is electrical, but with no code, and not being able to reproduce the issue for a scan tool, I am just guessing at every effort I make. If it was a grounding issue...

CP3 Slipping when it is cold?

Good to hear from you TC. I checked all the TIPM connections, and looked for something loose to no avail. How about a bad ECM?

JGillott - I take it that you didn't get any check engine lights? How much of the harness had to be replaced and wht did that cost?

CP3 Slipping when it is cold?

Hi Guys. For about 3yrs now, when the temperature reaches around the freezing point, my truck acts up. In the summer time, it is flawless. In the winter seasons while driving, it will experience intermittent power surges. Doesn't happen all the time, and might only happen once in a 30mile trip...

    off idle stubble

I don't think there is a sure way to determine if the pintle inside the FCA is sticking. I have read that some people try to remove it then shake it. If the pintle rattles, it is good....I don't believe that to be an accurate method. Replacing the FCA might be a $150 gamble. The dealer should...

    off idle stubble

Have your relative that works at the dealership perform a reflash on the ECM, then perform and injector kill test and a cylinder contribution test. They are quick tests to aid in checking the health of the injectors. In injector replacement might be in order, but on the other hand it might be as...

    48re Transmission bolt torque values

OK. I can tighten them all by hand, but after going to all this trouble, I just figured I would torque them to whatever the recommended torque values are. It should only take me another 10 minutes.

    48re Transmission bolt torque values

Installed a new 48RE in my 2007 Ram 5.9L diesel. Does anyone know the torque values of: Transmission housing to engine block (I actually think it is an adapter plate) 4 bolts that go from the transmission mount to the transmission Torque converter bolts. Thanks guys

    Two speed sensors?

Does my 2007 5.9L truck have two speed sensors? There is one in the transmission, and there seems to be one on the differential.... Does the one in the transmission only control the transmission shifting, or does it also provide input to my gauges?

No brake lights, barely functioning cruise control

I had an issue once where my wiring harness to the brake light was worn through and the brake lights would ground out. Who-ever installed the BD 5thwheel hitch had to move the wiring harness, but didn't secure it very well.

    48re and TIPM

Does the 48re electronics communicate with the TIPM, or just the ECM? EX: Torque converter lockup, gear shifting, gear sensing...is it possible to have transmission glitches do to a bad TIPM?

    Gauge install dimmer

Thanks Guys. I'll solder in the two gauges to the extra pigtail dimmer wire that isn't being used, then I'll put some heat shrink over everything. Regards Glenn

    Gauge install dimmer

Hi all. I am installing two Isspro gauges on my dashboard. Behind dashboard temperature control buttons and cigarette lighter, there are unused pigtails. I guess each truck uses the same wire harness, for the various trim levels. Anyways, on any one of those unused pigtails, there is a...
