The G56 is a major improvement over the NV4500, IMO. I really like it.

I am in the process of cleaning my PS pump, I have it on the bench. It takes a vice and an 11mm box end wrench to disassemble the valve. There is a tiny bb inside it, be careful.

I'll have to take my pump off and give a good inspection (this way as to not lose any small parts as what the pics have shown).

I was surprised there was a small screen in there that could clog up over time. I'll also have to get a good look in my owners manual as I haven't looked in there for a long time for proper oil specs. Many people have told me ATF-4 or powersteering fluid works. For me neither have worked anyway to improve the steering effort.

So I'll just take apart, clean out, flush everything and put synthetic in.

How do you like your 1997 3500 with the g56?
