u want to know the best and cleanest way to do it , i founf the lowest part of the pan and punched a hole in it and let it drain out i had a b&m drainplug kit here which requires no welding but i modifyed it so it would drain completly and tig welded it on i have a tig so i can do that or u can...

A small correction to this topic, the vehicle in question is an '04. The topic author(at the other site) has taken a closer look at the vehicle and provided this newest info.

You can beleve it or not, but the source it came from seems reliable if he saw one in his shop. The Mercedes is NOT the standard diesel as I read the info, just an optional engine available in those models.
