Will leveling truck height in front, reduce my MPG’s?

Thanks for the offer, anyways. I found some 1-1/2” spacers. They should do the trick. GerryLP:cool:

Will leveling truck height in front, reduce my MPG’s?

Yeah, I will have to see where I can find stock rate springs that will level the truck. Not really wanting soft springs. It may take a while to find the right spring. Meanwhile, I found 1-1/2” spacers through Top Gunz.

I see. I think I will do the spring spacers, for now. The new shocks will accommodate the additional travel or distance created by the spacers. Just dropped off the driveshaft at the driveshaft shop for replacing the u joints. They squeak in reverse. Smh GerryLP:confused:

Does “soft ride” means “stock feel?” Thanks GerryLP:cool:

Will leveling truck height in front, reduce my MPG’s?

Awesome. Thanks for the tip. I have been in the fence on the leveling question. The truck has air bags in the rear (presumably because of the fifth wheel hitch), and so in one side, I can afford to level the truck, but on the other, do I want to spend more on diesel fuel? Lmao We were upgrading...

Will leveling truck height in front, reduce my MPG’s?

Thaxton, I misunderstood the spacer portion. So spacers for the springs. If you guys can refer me to a few good aftermarket parts suppliers, I’d appreciate it. Thanks GerryLP:cool:

Ouch. That just bumper the upgrade bill up. Lol. Ok. Good info! Thanks again. Maybe I can use my one month beer supply funds to get them. Lol

Ok. Forgive me, but I am total virgin to Dodge truck’s. I guess I was wrong. I was wondering how the truck’s option of 5,500 lbs front axle would translate to the shocks. But I appreciate the clarification. So if someone were to want to level the truck, how would you recommend they go about...

2010 3500 Laramie tail gate lock

So it turned out, that the tail gate lock on my recently purchased truck was bad (more like a big ball of corrosion), so I replaced it, and wanted to let you guys know (in case you haven’t gone through this issue), that both, the lock cylinder and pawl are replacement items that supersede the...

Will leveling truck height in front, reduce my MPG’s?

Thaxton, Perhaps a slightly different model or set up for a Dodge? The 5100 is the series. These were no different from the ones I installed on my daughter’s 2007 Tacoma TRD. Here is a pic of the ones I had placed in my Silverado. GerryLP:cool:

Will leveling truck height in front, reduce my MPG’s?

Mark, the Bilstein’s 5100 and higher models have three or four groves in their upper bodies, and with an added snap ring, they rest the spring on (and I am simplifying it a lot), on the spring cup, the result is an elevated pose. Which is what you really want. Spacer blocks basically rob total...

Will leveling truck height in front, reduce my MPG’s?

Thanks folks. I measure the distance from the top edge of the front tire to the fender opening lip at the middle point. Did the same for the rear tire-to-lip distance (unloaded). Came out a rake of 2.5 inches. So if I have them install the front 5100 shocks at 1.5, it should give me an inch...

Will leveling truck height in front, reduce my MPG’s?

Hi Scott, I used to own a gas 2014 Silverado 1500 with the 5.3 engine (I sold it to get my Cummins). And when I did the same with the 5100, I had them install them at the highest point (2”), and all of the sudden (or seemingly so), the mpg on the highway went from almost 20 mpg to a solid 18...

Will leveling truck height in front, reduce my MPG’s?

hello, I have finally realized my dream to own a Cummins Ram truck. Bout a 2010 3500 Laramie crew cab (with 120,685 miles), last Friday, and I was so impressed how on the freeway at 75 mph, the computer was showing 18.4 (actual by old method way 18.1 mpg). Now, I have an appointment with...
