Old one was growling quite a bit, but still worked just fine. This is my road rig, so any extra noises after a few hundred miles really wears on my bad hearing... I suspected my Chain was stretched, after my trans implosion incident on the interstate... But it was just slightly "longer" than the...

Alright, so I spend a Lot of time on the open road.... Just me and my Cummins, burning up some two lane blacktop.
Recently I've put two and two together and have correlated a Lurching, or bucking when reversing after a long highway segment.
Some times it is violent enough that I try to find...
Interesting comments guys..
So when I run the new lines, I just add the stock filter back in line? Seems simple... The banjo bolt that terminates at the front(CP3?) has been open to elements, so I'll take the whole unit off(filter/separator housing, Not Cp3), and give it a thorough cleaning...
No worries! I'm still awake....(?)
2nd gen is same height(or dang near) as 3rd gen..
Here is the one I got..
http://www.ebay.com/itm/FRONT-BUMPER-VALANCE-APRON-DEFLECTOR-AIR-DAM-94-01-DODGE-RAM-1500-2500-NO-FOG-/391077817347?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item5b0e0dec03&vxp=mtr
I did... The 2nd gen is the same size on top, as the 3rd gen is on bottom... They line up real well, and just need holes and nuts/bolts...
Not the best pic... I used stainless hardware, for longevity And to go along with my "bolted" flares..
I have added a 2nd gen air dam, below my OEM airdam for Better aerodynamics(less drag from underpinnings)...
~$50 on EBay and good quality parts...
I imagine you can find a 3rdgen on there for equivalent cost...
I got a pair of the Carquest AGM batts for my previous '05 Ram... They did great for the few months of winter before I sold the truck...
Not a great post on longevity, but they are an option... I believe it was ~$325 for the pair.
I plan to use them again, when my '03 needs replacements(came...
My previously loved '03 QCSB6MT came with an Air Dog 165(?) setup.. With fuel filter and water separator..
The PO had bypassed the stock fuel filter during the install.
I am getting ready to redo the hoses(dry rot outer layer) and wiring(Very poorly installed) and wanted to add the stock...
Hopefully these pics will help future events!
Here is the orientation at the initial point of opening the case. There is a short side and long side to this gear. This is the selector in question, that engages the chain sprocket to engage the front drive shaft(selects 4wd)..
Here is a view...
Alright, I got this project done... Also replaced fluid in both diffs while I was at it..
Case halve torque was 20-25lb ft... Nice n easy! Manual showed up the day after I reinstalled the tCase, and learned I reversed one piece and it was stuck in 4wd.... Complete tear down and rotate...
Sounds logical to me! I'm sold! Lol
Thank you for the tip!
Would you happen to have the torque specs for the tail cone and t-case halves? (My manual hasn't shown up yet... :( )
Can you expand on "it is crap In a t-case"?
I'm all for taking care of my truck, especially with this one all fresh, but need more info before I'm sold...
Isn't synchromesh a bit thicker than ATF? Wouldn't this overtask the new pump in the T-case?
Always seen/heard of using ATF, never...
