My 96 2500 (~219K miles) shows some erratic tach operation for the 1st 15 to 30 min of running. I notice during this time that use of brake drops the tach to near zero. Could this mean a problem w/vacuum pump? How does that affect the tach guage. Local dlr svc mgr doesn't have a suggestion. After a ~1 1/2 run last week, the truck ran fine coming home. ???
