CEL went off, and with 35,000 miles showing I purchased the Chrysler extended warranty from Trish at Reidman Motors. $2620 for 8 years, 120,000 miles, $100 deductible. Feeling better now.:)

Problem solved, I hope. The Miles City dealer made an appointment for me this afternoon. By the time I drove there ( 95 miles) the code was inactive although the CEL was still on and still is on now. Service manager said this problem had nothing to do with the SCR and that I should be good to...

Sept 20 I was at the Lewistown Montana dealer who diagnosed my solid CEL as needing an SCR replacement, P20EE . None available and 500 back ordered nation wide. The diesel tech who seemed knowledgeable said he could snip and tape the ammonia sensor, reprogram the computer and I'd be good to go...

This thread and it's responses have been helpful. Thanks to the forum members. I still don't understand the connection between the SCR with it's use of DEF to reduce NOX and the DPF to reduce particulate matter. I'm going back to research the older issues of TDR that pertain to see if I can make...
