I am calculating mileage by hand. From fill up to fill up using the same procedure.
As far as mileage I have never gotten 15mpg towing anything. Even towing my 12’ mowing trailer I only get 12 at max. Towing my 14k gooaeneck with roughly 9k on the trailer I get at very best 10mpg. The last...
It seems to be something that started slowly. I thought nothing about but it has been getting worse over last year. More noticeable after going to dealer for airbig recall. It came back from dealer and noticed the interior lights acting strange and then found the tipm board was bad. Other than...
I have. 2006 3500 dually with 5.9l, it has 373 reared and is 4WD. It has 66000 miles on it and my fuel mileage is horrible. New I was getting 15+ towing and 17-18 regular driving now I get 8.8 to 10 mpg towing. Nothing has changed same trailer and same load. I try to run quality fuel and Amsoil...
I had removed mine about 4 months ago. I was getting about 19mpg proir to removing and now it is down to 15mpg. As far as performance it didn't help at all. I am going to put mine back on because the loss in MPG's isn't worth it. Just my 2 cents
AH64ID, I am not sure what the timing is, I think its set on 2 and torque is 2. But without going back and checking again not 100% sure. All I did was hook up Smarty and set it to towing mode.
Ok guys, here is some more info after doing a few test runs with different settings.
1. Totally stock - on flat ground 7-8 lbs of boost and exhaust temp prior turbo is 700EGT
Totally stock - Going uphill about a 5% grade 28lbs boost and 1050+ EGT
Totally Stock - Going uphill about a 5%...
I went back and check the settings and it was on Towing at 99 or full power so I backed it down to 70 and will try that and get back to the forum with the results. Also I still have stock exhaust, should I up grade to a more open system?
Thanks for all the responses.
I installed a Pac brake and gauges on my 2006 3500DRW 5. 9 and I noticed that my exhaust temp, before turbo, is running 600 on flat ground and around 1100 on hills empty. I am running a Smarty Jr set on tow, everything else is stock. What should the temp be normally? I haven't even tried to pull...
I know this question probably has been asked a thousand times.
I have 2006 5. 9l it has the stock exhaust system on it as of now. My question is as follows.
Is there any exhaust and muffler system out there that will give you good flow without a lot of restriction, and without a drone...
I use AMS OIL in my 06 and I am getting 18 to 20k on my oil and still has not reached the end of its life but I still change it a 20k anyway. I also drive about the same as you. Hope this helps.
I just recently place in on my truck and I agree with the Donn just need to torque it to proper specs. It is a great to have exspecilly if you do oil samples, makes it much easier.
