I have answered my own question. After looking at a wiring diagram I determined there are no relays in the circuit. Took the switch module apart, cleaned the contacts and it works. I think I'll go ahead and order a switch unit, ($115. 00 from rockauto), because of the wear on the contacts.

Of course that happened 300 mi from home in heavy snow. Ran my drivers side window down to clear it and it wouldn't go back up. All other windows worked. Tried unplugging the switch and just jumping from the hot wire to all the other leads... nothing. Why not? Ended up unplugging the window...

I have had a shift problem off and on for awhile now along with a 2127 code. I have noticed for the past week if I plug the truck in overnight it shifts fine and the check engine light goes off. If I don't plug in the truck it won't shift into overdrive for 10-20 miles. I was thinking...

OK, I drove the truck 40 miles last night and got another code... 0243. found a bare/broken wire on the wastegate solenoid so I removed it, soldered the wire and reinstalled it... seems to have fixed that problem. Now the p2127 code is back, I checked all connections, everything seems to be ok...

I took the truck to my wonderful local carquest and they cleared the codes for me... drove about 8 miles with no problems and check engine light did not come back on... we'll see.

I borrowed an obd ii reader to clear the codes and it won't clear them... it reads the 2127 code but not the 0243. Ideas?

I'm getting code P0243 which is a wastegate solenoid fault... is the solenoid replaceable? ---------------- 2004. 5 3500 srw quad cab long bed... bone stock (for now)
