    D001: The First Development Truck

It would be nice to get a list of the weak links that had to be addressed for the engine to be successful at this lowered power. So that putting that power back does not compromise the longevity of a first gen . Made it 350k mi before 4th split a planetary on factory tune, replaced with a 4th...

    CMEP Video

"Prior to the reopening of the plant in January of ’92 as the Columbus MidRange Engine Plant, the B-series engines for Dodge pickups were manufactured in Rocky Mount, North Carolina" Vacant until the end of 1991. Dose this make my Jun 91.5 a an Ohio or North Carolina? IC, 7MM Injectors ...

    Possible manual transmission alternative

$2k extra for beefed up inturnals . Was a nice bump from 92.5 to 103mph and cut 200rpm. My goal is 130mph on 300k +stock sealed VE45 pump. Next up is a SCS drop box with gearsets for 1800 - 2100rpm @130mph. I need to find a dyno near Butte Mt to find what the trans, QSV, hx35w12/6cm ...

    Possible manual transmission alternative

Yes I'm aware there is a massive difference between 1st Gen and all the others. However the mid plate bolt pattern is the same. In 2017 when researching a stronger better raito OD transmission than the non lockup 46rh capable of handling power above stock, thermac crossed my sights. I...

Interstate Batteries are my go to . Finished a 8month job in north Tx fixing Fed Ex trucks 1-2 years life out of anything ells . Engine heat was not a factor battery (1 gas,2 Cummins ) are just inside the passenger doir on the Step van platform. Changed out the last of 25 FoMoCo @15months...

    Truck is stalling.

Sounds like you may be having the same problem I'm having with one of my trucks at work I have an 05 EGR cp3 5.9 Freightliner MT45 (delivery van) that will stall or go into limp/shutdown mode (no throttle) until the engine coolent reaches 70°F . Then alls well till the next time the coolent...

replacing lift pump this morning, got a question?

I use yellow thread dope for all threads except potable water. Yellow is fuel/water ,lquid or vapor ,stable to 3000psi @-50 to +400f. The Teflon bits from previous owner should NOT have gotten past the filter(located between the 2 pumps) to cause any lingering effects in your injection pump or...

Any Feedback on the BD diverter valve?

650-700 depending on wind 2.5-3psi with full exhaust manifold wraped from head to down pipe. Was 750-800egt and 1-2psi before the wrap . I have found my EGT to be more of an indicator of boost than speed.. I can hold 60-80mph at 600-800EGT at 1-5psi. (0-3psi before the wrap)

Any Feedback on the BD diverter valve?

JDoremire I just finished reading 6.5l's write-up when i got the notification of responces to this thread. Yours is next. Dose orientation matter? Judging from the cutaway images of a devided exhaust housing the rear (closest to the down pipe) air flow is close to 180° change of direction...

    A518 gear lock for dyno?

If possible post up the results . Ive been trying to find a chart of a stock 1st gen. Aswell as BSFC ( brake specific fuel consumption) curve if that can be gotten. 3-4 shift 32.5 - 60mph Thanks in advance. Dream Big Chisel Down To Reality

losing overdrive after truck warms up

Almost sounds like a circuit breaker, but our trucks dont have any. Check your fuseabke links(on passenger finder skirt near the battery) maby a braker was instaled and has gotten weak.

    Oil Temp

Is the oil flow through the filter head the same as the 1st gen? If so,then reading the oil temp at the tap on the filter head would show the temp after cooling/heating. . In my mind putting an oil temp in my filter head would only show when the oil cooler is overwhelmed. (Needs more...

    Engine Oil temp Gauge

Kicking a dead horse The oil flows through the heat exchanger then the filter head .... this ruined my plans for using the tap on top of the filter. This tap has eather cooled (high load when this gage shines) or heated(cold start , gives a false "up to operating temp" the other time this...
