First oil change on 2013 question, Opinions please

My '01 HO 24 valve, '06 HPCR, and '08 cab and chassis have all turned the oil black immediately. I've never worried about it and black oil has never hurt any of them.

    Transmission Builder in SW Missouri?

If you're not a transmission expert which I certainly am not and my friend is not either, it's hard to know which shop is good and honest and which ones spend their money on advertising. I sent my friend an email advising him to monitor this thread for a day or two to see what he can learn and...

    Transmission Builder in SW Missouri?

Is Blumenthal's reputation with 48REs as good as their reputation with NV-5600s? Do they do in-truck diagnosis and repairs or does Blumenthal's require the transmission be removed and delivered/shipped to them?

    Transmission Builder in SW Missouri?

Can anyone in MO recommend a good and honest 48RE rebuilder, preferable in the south-west corner of MO? An old friend of mine who lives in Shell Knob, MO has an '06 Ram 3500 srw he bought new. He has serviced it properly and regularly for the 150k miles he has driven it and never abused it. The...

    2013 6.7 ETG need gauge

I rode in a friend and fellow TDR member's truck a few months ago. He has one of those cute little Edge boxes on his dash. With the afternoon sun behind us neither of us could read a single bit of data off that silly little toy gauge. Personally I would not install a free Edge Insight in my...

Edge fined by EPA for $500k

Damn, I wish I'd thought of that. I could do that also and earn a merit badge from a group of tree hugging twits wearing bells on the toes of their ballet shoes. Perhaps one of our leftists who does a quick garbage dump here once in awhile and then runs could give me the contact info for a...

    2013 & diesel particulate filter?

Yes, you can downshift to achieve a final drive ratio that allows the engine to remain in the torque band at your chosen or state mandated road speed but you've given up the load startability provided by 4. 10 ratios. Ram engineers have reasons for severely reducing their GCWR specs on trucks...

Possibility of mixing DEF at home.

I believe the water distillation process removes some but not all ions.

Edge fined by EPA for $500k

I have seen old photos as many of us have of the terrible drought that occured here in the area where I live, farther north in the TX Panhandle, in Oklahoma, and probably much of the middle-west back in the 1930s. The area was known as the dust bowl. Lack of rain, and excessive heat destroyed...

Edge fined by EPA for $500k

Good. Glad we're on the same page.

Possibility of mixing DEF at home.

My fellow submariners have a little experience with and knowledge of distilled and deionized water.

2007 topper brake light wiring issue

Hmmm. I don't understand. If the wire can flow sufficient current to light an ordinary incandescent bulb in a test lamp I would think it capable of lighting a four or five bulb LED lamp. It might be worth trying a taillamp (not stoplamp) wire but I wonder if the TIPM will sense the additional...
