I finally removed the blower fan. What a PITA! My fat fingers are screaming at those mice right now!
Did find an acorn shell flopping around the housing along with residual debri. What I did not expect to find was a hole chewed in the corner of the door!!
I cycled the key off and on to move the...
New issue just sprung up. Must be residual debri, but I had to turn on the defroster due to cooler weather with the fan on high and it is making a vibration and noise.
I am certain it is from the acorn shells or other junk from my mouse issue a while back.
Haven't had the fan in high in a while...
Revisiting this after I found a broken acorn shell in my glove box. It has been a while since the original mouse house in the back seat area. I did not explore the cabin air filter area at that time. Now that I discovered the cab air filter is full of the blue paper towel debris from last July...
With the mouse highway travel route in my truck, I am going to start charging a toll on these little Trolls! At least they will be fed a tasty meal !!!
Thanks for the info @Tuesdak. They got into the hood liner last season. $250 */- to replace it. The battery insulation has been munched on also.
How do you access the top of the cabin filter?
I will check that next.
So far, no nests or urine smell in the cab.
I think @Cissco is correct with...
Thanks Cissco. I had a glimpse of those while I was looking under the cab/truck bed area. Was hard to view that area. Did you take out the back seat? Looks like a pain to do so.
@Topzide, funny thing is, the only area where I can find any evidence is under the back seat drivers side. I leave the seat section up against the back. Fold out floor section down. In the hidden hole under the seat back I store some TP paper and blue paper shop towels. There are untouched...
I am definitely going to investigate the access areas. Fortunately there is a lack of odor or poop! I am guessing the mice come in to get nesting material and build elsewhere.
I did have to replace the hood insulation this spring from due to rodents!
Time for a cat!!!
Last week I noticed the paper towels under the back seat were a bit chewed up. Small pieces of tissue were scattered around under the back seat area. I did not see any nest area or smell any urine. I thought to myself "I can't imagine how critters would get inside the cab!" So I cleaned the...
Took my truck to the dealer yesterday. When I arrived, I was told it would be a $165 labor charge for 1 hour to do the update. Reluctantly, I said ok. They called me up 4 hours later to tell me the radio/media center was bad. Since I had the extended warranty, the new system installed would be...
@brucejohnson,
Sounds like we experienced the same issues.
My truck was at the dealer 3 weeks ago to get the no2 sensor replaced. Would have been nice if they would do updates as a courtesy.
Did the dealer charge you to update Uconnect? I have the extended warranty. I think it may be...
