I have had old vacuum lines appear good, but collapse when a vacuum was induced on the line in the past. You might want to replace them if they are 'old' and have years of use. Also it isn't clear in the post whether you were getting vacuum at the hose coming off the pump? But if not, it could...
Seems that would work. Thanks for providing the 'discovery',Jaybro.
I have been wondering how much or little to do on my truck with the new smog requirements here. This gives me a little leeway and possibility.
It is amazing the mechanical gauge would be that far off from the electronic, but typical past experience would say the electronic gauge would be more accurate. I know of no one who does comparison testing anymore. . . manufacturers tend not to like that.
If the last few audio electronic...
Emery, If you are towing light like that, the NV-4500 is capable of that. Now, if your rodding your truck that will be completely different story. How many 100,000's of miles do you want it to last and how do you drive?I would say the lest expensive would be to have a rebuild by a reputable shop...
Reactionaries on a public forum? America is alive and well.
Grizzly: "I don't know what you've been smoking, but you're kind of out in left field on two things. "
I believe the question was would "I" and why. What has your opinion got to do with my experience and preferences?

Whenever anything electrical stops working in a dramatic fashion on my Ram, I start looking for ground faults. I've rarely had the fuse go, it has always been a bad ground issue so far. whether it was the dash failing, the lights or the radio system. It has always led to an afternoon laying...
If your running a lot of gravel and multi-terrain (off-road) over the years BF Goodrich lasted 40,000 for me and gave good traction snow or mud or pavement. I haven't used them for ten years though and with today's 'rush to the bottom' in quality that may not be true today.
Off-road I go...
If you had good grounding and resistance across the sending unit, and no wires rubbing or kinked (shorts) it probably lies within the fuel system itself. I believe the pump allows the fuel to flow back to tank when it doesn't run, so fp going back to zero doesn't really tell you much. I would be...
I've been blissfully ignorant of the issues of the 2nd generation cummins. Work is a full time job. I have a 2001 2500 4x4 6 spd mostly stock (4" pipe and better air filter) and 78000 miles. But reading everyone's posts I realized I have just been lucky. I work in construction and all most all...
I am coming really late to this party, but a radiant barrier, much like a kevlar glove for working on hot engines would shield the ECM. We use them in construction all the time.
It could be very thin and use stand off bolts to space the ECM from the block heat. Reading your posts you may have...
Toys are fun!
Hello guys, nice thread and a great forum. I'm new to the site. I read through the posts and saw one thing for the truck I would recommend for towing, especially for first time trailer haulers, an exhaust brake for your truck will make everyone's trip a little more relaxed. It is...
I was a little unclear about the 'rusted into' part. But Vulcan sells a completely reworked module ( I think about 275) and you can get 3/8 or 1/2" outlets per your need. A drawstraw would be less, but it would be good to know your return line is not 'rusted off'' before you go that route. Look...
Electronic Gremlins
Sounds like you have defective sending unit or an electrical short. electronic gremlins, the worst kind of entertainment I can think of. You might want to get out the multimeter and test a few wires and resistance across the unit.
