    Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) NV5600 Blown for the Second Time!

When they rebuilt it the first time, I wasnlt trhere to watch them put in the fluid. I gurantee I will be there this time though!!! I will probably have to buy the fluid myself, since they will probably only put in a factory fluid or compatible, but I am OK with that. So you are saying fill the...

    Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) NV5600 Blown for the Second Time!

I think we may be on to something here. Does it sound reasonable that there was not enough fluid getting up to 6th gear! Or would the wrong fluid casue the damage! When it went out the second time, the truck was only running for about 20 minutes and under no load. Although the previous couple...

    Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) NV5600 Blown for the Second Time!

The more I think about it, this may be a fluid level thing. I had the fluid changed at 98000 miles with Mopar fluid. About 20000 miles after that it blew the first time. The sceond time it blew it had 10000 more miles on it. I am not sure what type of fluid they used the second time, but it is...

Wonder if adding a fast cooler with the ability of adding more transmission fluid would help??

    Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) NV5600 Blown for the Second Time!

Just blew my second Six speed! I have a 2001 Dually with the NV5600. About 8 months ago at 121000 miles, I had the transmission rebuilt including a new 6th gear set which cost me $2500. The shop was a reputable shop and seemed to do good work. Well. . I was down in MS on I-10 cruising along at...

Edge Comp Installed - WON'T START! Please HElp!

To all who replied... Thank YOU!!! I retraced my steps, and looked at the injection problem closely, and to my surprise I forgot to reconnect the main wiring harness to the injection pump. I felt like an idiot! In the famous words of Forrest Gump "Stupid is as Stupid does"! Took it for a...

Edge Comp Installed - WON'T START! Please HElp!

Installed a Edge Comp from a reliable source in my 01. Everything was going well, no major issues, followed the directions to a T. Installed Boost and EGT gauges at the same time. Buttoned everything back up and it won't start! Engine turns over, but will not start. No problems or issues before...

2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission EVSII Keyless Entry Compatibility

Saw a EVSII Keyless entry system on e-bay for a reasonable amount, but not sure it will work on my truck. I have a 2001 3500 with the SLT package. It has power windors (southern for windows) and locks, overhead console , but does not have the factory keyless entry and was not equipped as such...

    Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) 6 Speed Gear Grinding (5th - 6th)

Thanx for the replies. I hate to switch to a synthetic after reading all the bad posts in past, but at this point that may be my only option besides pulling it out and having it checked. I have a feeling it may be the synchro going bad. Anyone else run accross this problem?

    Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) 6 Speed Gear Grinding (5th - 6th)

New to the forum, Ex Powerstroker!!!!! Just purchased a 2001 HO 6 Speed. When shifting normally from 5th to 6th its grinds a little. If I take my time, and let the engine spool down a bit, its OK. Had the transmission fluid changed with Mopar Fluid using the number on the side of the trans, but no...
