How Much DEF Are You Using In Miles?

DEF usage is directly related to fuel consumption. Engine manufacturers plan 2-3% DEF per gallon of diesel depending on vehicle operation, duty cycles, geography, elevation, load, etc. I plan 2% solo and 3% when towing. It can get as low as 1% based on those factors and driving conservatively.

    Throttle Sensitivity Boosters

I run an S&B CAI, MBRP exhaust, and the TS Performance Stryker. I have no desire to alter my throttle sensitivity. Never thought it was lacking. I pull a stock trailer loaded with 12k-ish in cattle (+3k trailer) and still have no problem with the factory throttle.

    To buy chip or not

I run a TS Performance Stryker fuel control module on mine. Gets 1 mpg better in city and 2-3 highway than it did stock. And puts down 428 rwhp and 957 lb/ft torque if I bury the skinny pedal. Couldn’t be happier. No reprogramming at all. All it does is adjust the fuel injector duration based on...

TPMS Reset with no dealer visit

Apologies for the delay in response. I work overseas and this COVID garbage extended my stay. You need the bypass cable to work around the security built into the computer. In the AlfaOBD app you need to access the menu for a configuration change under the body computer section. There you can...

    Who is using Alfa OBD?

If you are meaning removing any pins from the OBD port then no. The 1 and 9 pins are open. At least they were on mine.

    Who is using Alfa OBD?

That is the entirety of the hardware that I used. Just need the RFHub PIN and the AlfaOBD app and have fun.

    Who is using Alfa OBD?

It is a very different setup. The smaller plugs go into the green strip. From what I have been able to find it doesn’t matter where on the green strip they plug in. Does that harness replace the existing OBD port altogether?

    Who is using Alfa OBD?

It is pretty straight forward. First, remove your OBD port by squeezing the tabs on the side. It pushes out backward. Remove the pin retainers from the OBD port by pressing the retention clips with a very small screwdriver. Then the pin retainers will come out and the new pins can be installed...

    Who is using Alfa OBD?

That is the bypass harness. The thin wiring is what actually bypasses the security module. One end becomes the #1 and 9 terminal ends on the obd port in the truck. The other end plugs into the green strip to the left of the obd port. The large cable is an obd extender that only operates the...

    Who is using Alfa OBD?

I am looking at doing other things like high beams with fog lamps. Not sure what else. The pin puller is a pay as you go app. You buy tokens and different features and can reload as necessary so you can use it on multiple vehicles.

TPMS Reset with no dealer visit

I called the only Ram dealer in my area and was told that whatever computer program they use was down and they couldn't give me the code. Update... This morning the dealer called me and gave it to me over the phone. I am just impatient when it comes to accessing information that I am paying for...

TPMS Reset with no dealer visit

Today I was able to reset my TPMS minus a trip to the dealer for the illusive PIN. The breakdown is as follows; Purchased an OBDLink MX+ for $80. It was the most expensive component but I have also used it to get CEL codes and reset the CEL on other vehicles so it is well worth it to me. The...

    Who is using Alfa OBD?

I just reset my TPMS threshold with Alfaobd on my Samsung phone. Coupled it with an OBDLink Mx+, and an AEV Security bypass harness and the Chrysler PIN Puller app. Worked great for a total of $170 but the OBDLink was $80 of it and I have used it on other vehicles to clear codes. Well worth it...
