    I have searched this site and others regarding the KDP issue. What I haven't been able to get a handle on is the pervasiveness of the problem. Clearly, the manufacturers aren't paying any mind to the problem. In your opinion, how common is the problem? How often does it occur...

    I searched through NHTSA's website, http://www.nhtsa.dot.gov/cars/problems/, and hardly found a mention of the KDP problem. Does anyone know if NHTSA has ever investigated the problem. Has anyone complained to them about the KDP issue?
