I also have a 2002 Cummins and just changed everything as you did. I purchased Geno's tensioner and never could keep the bely straight. I went on and purchased a new pulley and put it on original tensioner. Worked great and no belt issues. I also put Geno's Gates water pump and hoses with no...
First one on my 2002 Cummins died at 85,000. Second one died at 175,000. I have installed several lift pumps but now run a new design Delphi. I now have a fuel pressure gage and I hope I can get at least another 100K on this one.
I have a 2002 Dodge 5.9 Cummins with 170,000 miles and it still turns me on every time I get in it, I just changed the water pump, belt and idler pulley just for preventive maintenance. I was thinking about the starter rebuild next. I am not having any issues but I guess I just like to stay...
I found the whistle or should I say the people that had just change my VP found it. After building all sorts of testing fixtures with no luck, I brought it back to the VP repair shop. They had assured me that nothing they did would cause a whistle. Well, after less than an hour they called me to...
Wow I think I can do that. What do you mean pressurize the system? Where and how. The noise is not a metal to metal sound but more like a whistle and does sound Turbo related by the way the sound goes up and down with throttle.
I was afraid of that. What are my options? Should I park it? I cant hear any whistling while cruising down the road, just getting up to speed. Is this an expensive fix?
I have developed a whistling sound from under the hood of my 2002 Dodge 3/4 ton diesel. I have tried to find it but cannot hear it with the hood open. I have had someone rev the engine and I still cannot hear it. It only whistling while driving and accelerating. If you shift into neutral while...
I have the new sending unit and fuel tank back in the truck. Everything is working good now. I had a connection problem at the top of the fuel tank where the wires plug in. Thanks for all of your help.
I just put an ohm meter on the spliced wire sending unit and it read 220 empty and 21 full. I guess that answers my question about the spliced wires. It must be the connection from the truck plug to the sending / suction module. I will keep looking.
I dropped the tank on my 2002 ram diesel to change the fuel sending unit. I purchased a new Mopar 04897669AB sending unit from the local dealer. I worked for hours trying to release the 2 wires from the plug in the large sending unit / suction housing. I could not get the 2 wires unhooked to...
I disconnected the fuel line to the frame mounted lift pump. I made a fitting to attach a blow line to the fuel tank. I blew on it by mouth and could hardly blow thru it so I put my air compressor on the line and blew gently. After that, I could blow by mouth but not too easy. I syphoned the...
