After having a '97 2500 2x4 and getting 21 hiway 17 city and 12 pulling a 35 ft FW I'm disappointed in my new to me '13 3500 CC, DRW, 4x4, auto, 3.42 diffs that gets 16/17 mixed city/hiway and 8/9 towing a heavier 35 ft FW. I still love the truck, diesels should be inline 6's.
Thanks for the responses guys. I'll go to a dealer and check out the hose routing this weekend. I assume that device shown goes into a DEF tank fill with a larger neck than what's on my truck. The nozzle just fits into my filler opening as it is.
I've inspected the plumbing install and it's all downhill though very gradual at best. I got 5 gal in today using my gravity lash up. I don't know what to do short of dropping the tank and replace the elbow connection at the tank.
It's impossible to even start a flow of DEF. The only way I've been able to get DEF into the tank is to use a gas can filled at the DEF pump, Then using a series of plastic plumbing I'm able to fill the DEF tank 2 1/2 gal. at a time. Also the wife catches the spillage into a plastic cup. Unless...
Just a short update on the BD 2LO switch. Took the rig to Colorado end of July. Used the switch every time I parked in a new location with great results. I highly recommend it.
I'm having trouble filling my new to me '13 3500 flatbed with DEF. It won't even start to fill at a DEF pump at a station and when I fill from the jug box it acts like the vent isn't working right. I checked the hose to the tank and it's good. Is there some kind of one way vent valve in the tank?
So if I use the "BD 2Low Unlock" the transfer case down shifts to 4wheel low but the BD kit keeps the front axle from being active. With the Spyn Tec the front axle is still active but the hubs are unlocked. I guess if price is the only consideration then the BD kit is a no brainer. But with the...
I have a '13 3500 DRW CC Auto 4X4 with 3.42 gears. It's not a good match to my 16k lb 5th wheel in parking maneuvers. I've seen mention of using a SpynTec locking hubs and 4X4 low range to overcome that problem and not loose the highway advantage of the 3.42 gears. Anybody on here actually done...
I have recently purchased a 5er and a '13 CC,DRW, 4X4, flat bed that I put an Andersen steel low height hitch on. First thing I noticed was I had no tailgate to stop a disconnect between truck and trailer.
Went to the Andersen web site and saw a set of safety chains. I bought a set and will be...
I think he was referring to the original poster's picture. I haven't taken a picture yet. I'll try that soon though.

Ram '13 3500 DRW 4x4 CC auto with flat bed by J&I Mfg.
Joined the ranks of Ram haulers this week. Traded the class c MH for a Ram '13 3500 DRW 4x4 auto with flat bed. Then picked up a '16 Montana 35' 5th wheel. Love that Cummins, even with the 3.42 diffs it does great. Not much history available on the truck unfortunately so I'll be going over it...
