Final outcome. transmission pump was leaking, metal shavings throughout system, bands scorched, so I have been running a little hot. Complete rebuild underway and replacing the Torque Convertor as well. I think I will put on the deeper pan and a transmission temp gage after this.

Hi John, I put about 25k a year on the truck, so I get the transmission serviced every summer. They pull the pan, replace the fluid, filter and adjust the bands. So I have around 5 months on the last service. I will take it in as soon as I get back to Spokane. Thanks for the input. Joe

If I am on a slight incline or flat, I can feather the throttle, get it into second and then from there it is not problem from that point. Any significant incline and I am stuck in first.
