    Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) P1689 code...something is not right

    I just had the same problem, but besides P1693 I got P1683 as well. Turned out to be the crank sensor! Electronic tomfoolery, if you ask me!

    New injectors same problem

    Just an update, the shop who replaced the injectors took it back, did all the pressure tests possible, spent some time with Bosch and figured out it was a problem with an injector body. Problem has been fixed and truck is stronger than ever1

    New injectors same problem

    I have a stock '03 2500 with 302,000 miles. Just replaced the injectors due to rough engine performance. Stalling, variable idling(would drop to 500 rpm almost stall then spike to 1200 rpm - truck shakes and blows a puff of black smoke) jerky starts from a stopped position. Still runs rough.
