    Need mopar part number

Does anyone on the forum know what the part number is for the Mopar heavy duty replacement steering gear box now used on 2010 5. 9L / 6. 7L 2500 & 3500 Dodges? This box started being used sometime during the 2009 model run. I want to get one for my wandering 2004.

    Damn noise!

85000 miles. I have a noise coming from under my truck that is driving me nuts. When driving on rough roads (which all county & state highways in Ohio are) I get a "clunk" at every pot hole. I have replaced all ball joints (this helped) and pried and beat on everything under the truck...

My fuel mileage just dropped like a rock

Check for a binding U-joint. I had a 2 to 3 mile per gal. drop that was a bad joint. I caught on to it when the truck stopped rolling down the driveway when I released the clutch.

    Mpg Bad Bad And Bad

Just something to think about. I average 20 to 22 MPG on my truck except when I have a U-joint binding up. Every time my mileage dropped to 17 MPG I found a bad U-joint.

    Ball Joint Pains

I installed the Moog uppers and OEM lowers last week. There are no greaseable lowers available and I don't think there ever will be because there isn't enough clearance for a zerk on top of the joint to the univeral joint. If I were you I would continue to warranty replace them as long a...

New grinding noise from pass side front wheel

Noise when making a hard right turn. Found cause! When I installed the four ball joints I installed adjustable Moog uppers. After the front was aligned the noise started happening (only on hard right turns). Due to the adjustment of the eccentric in the upper ball joint the angle of the...

New grinding noise from pass side front wheel

Les, I'll check the left side next. I love driving this truck but I've just about had enough. 40,000 miles and 5 u-joints bad, 4 ball joints worn out, 1 front wheel bearing replaced, and this noise. This is bulls--t.

New grinding noise from pass side front wheel

Pulled axel out. U-joint flexs free & is well greased. Was installed about 5000 miles ago is greaseable.

New grinding noise from pass side front wheel

I've got the same noise when making a hard right turn. Just changed the right front wheel bearing (which was a little rough when turned by hand) & checked u-joint. Still getting noise.
