    colorado new emission laws 2022

I hate to break the news to some people here, but diesel emissions-compliance is Federally mandated; it was only a matter of time before the different states started testing for emissions compliance. I don't think this is a "commie" issue or left vs right; its a legal issue. Hopefully the...

Skid plate for oil pan/transmission pan?

There is no PW skid plate which covers the engine oil pan....that is a weak spot, even for the PW. The only skid plates which cover that area of the truck that I'm aware of are made by Asfir...

    DPF Regeneration Question

Thanks. Exactly the kind of feedback I was looking for.

    DPF Regeneration Question

That doesn't really address my concern. It may give me better awareness of the status of the DPF, but if I'm driving in 4wd low in a forestry road and the DPF says it needs me to drive at highway speeds to facilitate a regeneration, what am I supposed to do?

    DPF Regeneration Question

Okay, but the guidance from that engineer doesn't match up with the pages you've posted.... The engineer says its okay to idle the engine for long periods of time. The Ram literature is saying that you shouldn't idle for long periods of time and also that the SCR needs highway speeds to clean...

    DPF Regeneration Question

That conversation was in regards to a C&C truck....does all of that apply to a regular 2500/3500 pickup? Also, I do think that FCA engineer ate his own words a bit on that discussion; I mean after all, those early 6.7l's without the SCR turned out to be very unreliable outside of pure highway...

    DPF Regeneration Question

Not trying to be snarky, but I'm wanting to know if the DPF regeneration process will cause a count-down to limp mode if the driver cannot get to highway speeds. The diesel supplement does in fact mention something about needing to drive at highway speeds should the DPF need an active...

    Rant (feel free to ignore)

OP wasn't doing anything outrageous in terms of offroading. There is no reason a driveline component should snap like that when in 4wd hi or low going over a snow-covered road, especially on a 2-3 year old truck.

    Rant (feel free to ignore)

Lots of vehicles get used for the long term in high-salt (snow-belt areas)...I've driven 10 year old Toyota 4x4's in those types of conditions and the driveline components lasted just fine (with maintenance obviously). There is absolutely no reason that salt exposure should cause this kind of...

    DPF Regeneration Question

I'm somewhat amazed that despite all the experience on this forum, no one can give me a straight answer on this.

    Rant (feel free to ignore)

So if the snow wasn't deep, why the heck did the drive shaft break? Also, why are you refusing an inspection? Do you not want this thing to be covered by the warranty?

    Rant (feel free to ignore)

A drive shaft self-destructs because it wasn't greased? I don't know...it's possible. It's also possible that FCA had bad quality control at the factory. I've heard of other instances where this happened and I've heard some people question whether or not FCA truly built all of the driveline...

    DPF Regeneration Question

Did you hear that from a dealership technician? Not worried about any specific problems per se. I just was reading through the diesel supplement and it had very explicit language about needing to drive at "highway speeds" should a certain DPF message appear on the dash....from the feedback so...

    DPF Regeneration Question

I understand the SCR's task is different from the DPF's (reducing NOx versus Particulate Matter). However, I do recall reading Cummins literature discussing how the introduction of the SCR alleviated some of the earlier DPF issues. The explanation, as I understood it, was that any engine...

    DPF Regeneration Question

Okay so the message "Exhaust Filter XX% Full Safely Drive at Highway Speeds to Remedy" is more of a remedial regeneration rather than a normal active regen? Active regen's can and do occur at slow speeds, correct? Do they stop when the vehicle is put into park? I'm interested to know just how...
